With Battlefield 6, DICE has finally taken aim at the competitive survival genre in a serious way, introducing one of the most ambitious Battle Royale modes the franchise has attempted. While previous experiments like Firestorm in Battlefield V never reached mainstream traction, the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode—currently known informally as “All-Out Survival”—aims to change that by fully integrating the signature Battlefield chaos into a modern, tactical, persistent battle arena.
Battlefield’s strengths have always been huge maps, dynamic destruction, and large-scale warfare. For the first time, those pillars feel truly built into the DNA of Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale experience. Instead of simply mimicking existing giants like Warzone or Apex Legends, this mode leans heavily into Battlefield’s sandbox combat philosophy, offering players freedom to craft their own strategies in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
A Vast Map Built for Chaos and Tactical Combat

To keep matches engaging, Battlefield 6 introduces contracts—optional missions scattered across the map that reward high-tier loot and XP. These can range from eliminating enemy teams to capturing temporary objectives.
Mid-match events, such as airstrikes, siege zones, or radar sweeps, keep squads moving and force them to adapt. This pushes players toward organic engagements rather than camping or avoiding conflict.
